The Coronation stamps of 1937 when George 6th came to the throne of Great Britain are repeated all the way across the Commonwealth as in many, many other issues. The people administering the stamps across all the numerous dominions opted to use the same designs and just change the country names and value tablets.
Here are three sheets I got from an auction house. They are 81 years old now and doing pretty well, although they have some toning. They are the 1d carmine, 1 1/2d brown and 3d blue.
SG46 Nigeria Stamp Coronation 1d Carmine
SG47 Nigeria Stamp Coronation 1 1/2d Brown
SG48 Nigeria Stamp Coronation 3d Blue
A nice trio making the complete set of this issue. The 3d is a bit more fragile than the other two. Again, any weirdnesses spotted on the scans are due to me not being able to stitch two scans together well. The sheets are too big for an A4 scanner but I’m sure I could do a better job with a bit more skill at Photoshop.
Long time supporter, and thought I’d drop a comment.
Your wordpress site is very sleek – hope you don’t mind me asking what theme you’re using?
(and don’t mind if I steal it? :P)
I just launched my site –also built in wordpress like
yours– but the theme slows (!) the site down quite a bit.
In case you have a minute, you can find it by searching for
“royal cbd” on Google (would appreciate any feedback) –
it’s still in the works.
Keep up the good work– and hope you all take care of yourself during the coronavirus
scare!
Hi Justin, thanks for your message. The theme is eleven40pro running on Genesis. I am very amateur at this so try and keep it very simple.
Had a look at royalcbd and it’s very slick and was fast today so don’t think speed looks like an issue.
My only thought is that the front page does not have a benefit on it. Why would I buy stuff from you? In other words, what for? Perhaps you are correct in assuming visitors know what the oil is good for, perhaps not….
Keep safe and regards, J
